Digital Waste Tracking reaches carriers in Phase 2. Defra's published timeline is a private beta for invited waste collectors in autumn 2026, a public beta in spring 2027, and the service becoming mandatory in October 2027. That is a year of notice, and the operators who use it will be the ones already working digitally when the switch is thrown.
Carrier Comply is the compliance half — what you carried, who you carried it for, and where it went, on record and ready to lodge. Carrier Operate is the rest of the business around it: rounds, jobs, projects and the driver app. Take the first, add the second when it suits you.
