Robert Whiteside
CEO and Founder
Robert brings 30 years of technology and commercial leadership to Wasters, with senior roles at Google, Oracle, Expedia, GoCardless and EmpowerRD, plus experience as CEO, COO and CRO scaling SaaS businesses from early‑stage to global. He has extensive experience bringing powerful technology to SMBs, helping them compete and grow.
That mix of software and data architecture depth with hands‑on commercial experience shapes how Wasters has been built: a platform designed for the next 20 years, not a rushed compliance add‑on. His background in regulated, government‑facing markets also gave him a close‑up view of what auditors and regulators actually look for, which is exactly the bar the DEFRA mandate now sets for the whole industry.

Mal's career has been built inside some of the world’s most recognised companies – Google, Samsung and Discovery Network, among them. She has a deep understanding of how technology can transform businesses and the importance of data security and privacy implications.
Her focus has always been the same: taking something technically complex (new products, new data, new regulation) and making it clear enough for people to understand, trust, and act on. At Wasters, that’s the job: showing how every waste operator can turn DEFRA’s new requirements into data intelligence and operational advantage.
